I studied Photography for two years at the Open Window Academy in Pretoria achieving a distinction for my Portfolio at the end of the two years.
I have been involved in Club Photography since 2001, having moved up the ranks from a 1 star worker to a 5 star worker.
I am a member of the Photographic Society of South Africa, through which I attained my Associateship (APSSA) in Colour Prints and Digital. In January 2011, I attained my Fellowship (FPSSA) in digital. I serve on the Board of this Society in the Portfolio of PRO.
I am also a member of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain where in 2010 I attained my Associateship (ARPS) in digital.
I am also a member of the Photographic Society of America.
I started off focusing on Landscape Photography but have developed a passion for all styles. I remember a photographer once saying to me that light is the river on which technique sinks or floats. Emotion, spirit, conveying mood, atmosphere and meaning needs to be there when I capture the image. One must feel they could walk into the image and feel part of it.
I enjoy Wildlife and People Photography, especially taking pictures of my grandchildren.
My equipment is mainly Nikon which I changed over to in 2009 but my Point and Shoot Cameras are Sony and Canon.
